Player to jet into UK & arrive at West Brom in early hours of tomorrow AM – report

Ex-Leicester striker Ahmed Musa will arrive at West Brom in the early hours of tomorrow morning (Tuesday) ahead of potentially joining the Albion on a free transfer, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper reports that Sam Allardyce has invited Musa, 28, to train with the Baggies with the view to him potentially earning a contract at The Hawthorns.

It is understood that the free agent was supposed to jet into the UK last week but there was a mix up over his travel arrangements in Nigeria.

Musa is a free agent after leaving Al-Nassr last year and can sign for West Brom after the transfer window closes at 11pm on Monday night.

No rush for Musa

It remains to be seen if West Brom even need Musa.

After signing Mbaye Diagne from Galatasaray, Allardyce has a number of striker options that also include Hal Robson-Kanu, Callum Robinson and Karlan Grant.

Musa can play as a centre-forward but can also play on the wing, but the Baggies are also well-stocked out wide after bringing in Robert Snodgrass from West Ham at the start of January.

Musa’s known to be a fast player so his pace could offer something the Albion are lacking but either way, there’s no rush to get this deal done as he’s a free agent.

Allardyce and his coaching staff will have time to run the rule over Musa and see whether or not he’ll be a worthwhile signing.

As someone with Premier League experience and the ability to possibly offer something different to the club’s attack, there’s a possibility a deal will be done.
