‘No disrespect to West Brom’ – WBA loanee wants permanent exit from The Hawthorns

West Brom midfielder Sam Field has claimed he wants a permanent exit from The Hawthorns after his deadline day loan move.

The 22-year-old signed for Queens Park Rangers until the end of the season with an obligation to make it permanent involved.

After signing Ainsley Maitland-Niles, this move came out of nowhere, and we could have already seen the last of Field in the Midlands.

Speaking on the official QPR Twitter account as shared on Tuesday, Field admitted he didn’t want to become part of the furniture at The Hawthorns.

“I’m absolutely delighted,” he said.

“I’m looking forward to a new beginning, and hopefully it can become a permanent thing because I think I need a fresh start.

“I think you can also become a little bit part of the furniture if you’re not careful, and that’s no disrespect to West Brom, I’ve enjoyed my time there.”

It will have been a massively frustrating time for Field in recent years.

Under both Slaven Bilic and Sam Allardyce, there was hope dangled in front of him, but injuries and form never seem to find him, either in the Championship or the Premier League.

The signing of Okay Yokuslu will have been a kick in the teeth for him, but also a massive hint that he stands no chance of fighting his way in under Allardyce.

Field may only be leaving on loan, but these quotes couldn’t make it any clearer that he has already forgotten about the Baggies.
