‘Scruffy’ – MotD pundit slams West Brom over unwanted Premier League record

Leon Osman has slammed West Brom over their Premier League record after the 2-1 defeat against Sheffield United on Tuesday.

Despite taking the lead through Matt Phillips at Bramall Lane, the Albion crumbled in the second half, continuing their poor run of fixtures.

The Baggies have now conceded 26 goals in their nine games under Sam Allardyce, and are yet to keep a clean sheet under his strict management.

Speaking on Match of the Day, Osman predicted that the Albion will need to win nine of their remaining 16 fixtures to ensure survival.

“He also said they have to figure out a way of stopping conceding scruffy goals,”

“I don’t know how you’re expecting to stay in the Premier League game if you’re nearly conceding three Premier League goals a game.

“They’ve brought in Diagne now hoping that he’s going to be the answer. With two wins in 22 games, I think they’ll need nine now in their last 16 games – it doesn’t look great.”

Yesterday was the boiling point for many, and the moment where many accepted that relegation was bound to happen.

The only saving grace for Allardyce was that he could now get his new signings, Okay Yokuslu and Ainsley Maitland-Niles into his squad.

With Spurs and Manchester United to come, there is a big chance that the Baggies will be rock-bottom in the Premier League after those fixtures.

We need to start scoring more and conceding less, but unfortunately, that may take a magic wand at this moment time, with confidence at an all-time low.
