‘Get rid’, ‘Delusional’ – Some Albion fans saying same thing after latest shock PL development
You literally couldn’t write it. After losing to Sheffield United earlier in the week, things were looking tough for West Brom.
However, none of us thought that Brighton would beat Liverpool at Anfield, but that’s what happened on Wednesday night.
It was a huge shock and it’s left a lot of Albion fans feeling like dead men walking.
Liverpool lost their incredible unbeaten home record against another of our relegation rivals Burnley two weeks ago.
Now Brighton have done it and it leaves us 10 points from safety with 16 games left – and Burnley have a game in hand.
If Big Sam had a big task ahead of him when he arrived, that’s multiplied now and even the most optimistic fans have given up the ghost.
One said it was time to “get rid” of him and start looking to life in the Championship.
It’s a bit early for that. We’ll fight on. We have to. But fairly soon that could well be a reality.
The next two games, against Tottenham and Man United, are now games we simply have to get something from, ahead of the next six-pointer against Burnley.
Three defeats and we’d be down.
Plenty of fans already think that’s a certainty after Brighton’s result last night, with one saying anyone thinking differently is ‘delusional’.
