‘Must win’ – Michael Owen predicts result of West Brom clash v Spurs
Michael Owen has backed West Brom to fall to a heavy defeat against Spurs in their upcoming Premier League clash on Sunday afternoon.
The pundit has predicted that the Baggies will lose 3-0, and continue their dire run of form under Sam Allardyce this season.
Owen claimed that Big Sam will approach the clash as he did the 1-1 draw against Liverpool, but an early goal could see that crumble.
Writing in his Bet Victor predictions column, Owen claimed that this will be as much of a must-win fixture for Spurs than it is for the Baggies.
“Spurs’ woes continued as Chelsea made it three defeats in a row at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. This is simply a must-win for Jose Mourinho,” he said.
“Big Sam’s West Brom arrive here as underdogs and I think that the ex-England boss will try to execute a similar performance to what we saw when they took a point at Anfield.
“The time of the first goal will be important. If Spurs can get one early to settle the nerves, I think they’ll win comfortably.”
Every game has become must-win for the Albion now.
There is no hiding from the fact that relegation is an inevitability, and any result we can pick up along the way will be a real bonus.
One positive is that Spurs are in a shocking run of form at this moment, and should be without Harry Kane for the clash.
Jose Mourinho’s side are lacking attacking inspiration, and if West Brom can pick up an early goal, it could be made an awkward afternoon for them.
