West Brom don’t have enough money to sign Musa, PL clubs look to steal free agent – report
West Brom do not have enough money to sign free agent Ahmed Musa following a busy January transfer window, according to The Daily Mail.
The forward is currently in the UK after training with Albion and passing medical tests ahead of signing with the club.
However, there now seems to be an issue with any potential move with the owners refusing to release more cash for Sam Allardyce.
The Daily Mail claim that Albion’s budget has been stretched to the limit and Big Sam might have to do more wheeling and dealing to get Musa through the door.
The report states that the Baggies are looking to sell Kamil Grosicki to Legia Warsaw to free up some funds but the Polish club are looking for a loan deal.
In another blow to Albion, the report claims that Burnley, Southampton and Brighton are looking to steal Musa from under the club’s nose.
What a mess.
We knew that there was very little money to spend but you’d think that the club would have enough money to bring a free agent in.
The problem here is almost certainly with Musa’s wages and the departure of Grosicki would be ideal as it would get one of the high earners off the books.
We need more firepower desperately and the only feasible option at this point is Musa.
We cannot allow him to not join us and even worse, join a potential relegation rival as we fight to avoid the drop against all odds.
Surely the board can release a small amount of funds to get this deal over the line.
If they do then we have another decent striker and a better chance of avoiding the drop, something that looks very unlikely at the moment.
Just when you thought all the transfer drama was over…
Let’s see how this one plays out over the coming days.
In other West Brom news, this Albion player is set to be offered a £15,000-a-week contract by a manager who loves him.
