West Brom pull plug on Musa deal, reliable journo explains why

West Brom have pulled the plug on a move for Ahmed Musa as they feel that they have better players at the club already according to Joseph Masi.

The forward had trained with Albion and passed a medical ahead of his proposed move with the deal looking like a formality at one point.

This deal looked to be off the table with the club refusing to shell out extra transfer funds to make the move happen, according to The Daily Mail.

Masi, of Express and Star, claims that the club decided against a move for the Nigerian as we currently have better players in his position.

This means that the striker must have failed to impress on his trial as Karlan Grant hasn’t exactly set the world alite since he moved to The Hawthorns.

With the deal dragging on this long, it did seem that the club were still keen on signing Musa so Sam Allardyce may be left frustrated by this latest transfer blow.

At least it seems that this tedious transfer saga is at an end after weeks of not knowing whether the free agent would indeed move to The Hawthorns.

Musa is probably the best of a bad bunch when it comes to free-agent signings but there is no doubt that a forward with top-level experience could’ve been useful as we look to avoid relegation.

It is slightly embarrassing that we have been unable to complete the signing of a free agent however.

In any case, Musa must have left a really poor impression on the staff if we have decided to turn down the services of a player who would cost us nothing and has valuable experience.

It looks like the squad we have now will be the one we finish the season with and looking at the current group, we could’ve done with Musa.
