Millwall boss Rowett wants to ahold of West Brom’s Zohore beyond this season

A number of West Brom players face an uncertain future and one of them is striker Kenneth Zohore.

The 27-year-old joined Millwall on loan in October and will remain at the Den until the end of the season.

His manager Gary Rowett is keen to keep Zohore beyond the summer, but could not give any certainty about his future.

When questioned whether he would like to keep the striker, Rowett told News At Den, “Probably, but who knows what the plan will be next year.

“That’s not my concern because he’s not my player contracted to our club.

“The first thing is to maximise what Ken’s about and get him playing to the best possible level.

“Anything beyond that is out of our control.”

Zohore has been nothing short of a disaster since signing for Albion in 2019.

He has only made 20 appearances which shows he never fit in at The Hawthorns and it would be best for all parties if he was moved on.

We bought him for £8million and it looks like we will make a significant loss on our investment, but it is best to accept that and move on.

There is little point in continuing to pay the striker £16,500 a week.

Zohore is one of many who should be axed in our preparations for next season.

Charlie Austin is currently on loan so could leave, while Hal Robson-Kanu’s contract expires in the summer.

That gives us the opportunity to sign forwards who complement the likes of Callum Robinson and Karlan Grant.

With relegation looking likely, that would present us with the chance to form a formidable Championship strikeforce – with Grant grabbing 19 goals in the second tier last season.

There are eight players coming to the end of their contracts this summer, so we have the ideal chance to get rid of the deadwood and freshen things up.

The summer transfer window is a critical one, and offloading Zohore is a priority.
