Saido Berahino can’t keep quiet about West Brom as he makes another public plea

West Brom villain Saido Berahino has offered a public apology to Jeremy Peace for the first time since his acrimonious departure in 2017.

Berahino was adored by Albion fans after rising up the ranks from the youth academy to cement himself as a first-team star in the Premier League.

However he ruined his reputation and left a huge stain on his Baggies legacy when he attempted to force a move to Tottenham Hotspur in 2015 which ultimately proved unsuccessful and he was forced to remain at The Hawthorns for another 18 months.

In an exclusive interview with fourfourtwo magazine the 27-year-old has attempted to bury the hatchet with the former West Brom supremo while reiterating his desire to play for the club again one day, saying: “I didn’t take it well [not moving to Spurs] – I took it personally, then got myself involved in all sorts of bad things, tweeting that I’d never play for Peace again. I do regret that.

“I’ve never publicly apologised for my behaviour towards Jeremy Peace, but I’d like to do it now. He deserves that.”

He added: “I know it’s not realistic at the moment because they’re in the Premier League, but I dream of going back to The Hawthorns.”

Tedious tatter from Berahino

This is the latest public fawning from Berahino in an attempt to woo Albion supporters with memories of happier times gone by but it will not stick with us.

Once again he preached his desire to secure a move back to West Brom but the reality is he is not even cut out for the Championship, let alone the Premier League on the evidence of the last few years.

Sam Allardyce’s side have their own goal-scoring problems to contend with before adding in a striker who has scored just 17 goals in 91 club appearances since leaving The Hawthorns.

A measly total of five in 56 for Stoke City was a shocking return while he has not exactly set the world alight since moving to Belgium in 2019, registering just 12 goals.in all competitions.

We have moved on Saido, it’s about time you do too.
