West Brom fans desperate for Conor Townsend to receive a new contract
There are a few West Brom players coming to the end of their contracts in the summer and fans are keen to keep hold of Conor Townsend.
The full-back has progressed this season despite Albion’s troubles and he came straight back into the side last week following two months out injured.
He has battled Kieran Gibbs for a starting place this season but with the 31-year-old likely to join Inter Miami, Albion may look to extend Townsend’s contract.
The left-back is reportedly earning just £11,500 a week, too, so would be a much cheaper option than our highest earner Gibbs.
Hal Robson-Kanu, Branislav Ivanovic, Lee Peltier and Kamil Grosicki all have a few months remaining on their contract, but supporters are happy to see them leave.
They simply have not performed since promotion and relegation would provide a chance for a fresh start.
Some fans have been more supportive of Kyle Bartley and Kyle Edwards getting new deals, as they also have contracts expiring this summer.
Bartley has featured regularly this season with 15 appearances.
And Bartley and Townsend are two of our best performers this season per WhoScored, with average ratings of 6.7 and 6.6 respectively.
Here are some of the calls for Albion to renew Townsend’s deal.
