Key factor would likely rule out West Brom summer move for Okay Yokuslu
West Brom may find it difficult to sign Okay Yoksulu on a permanent deal in the summer according to Spanish outlet Faro de Vigo.
The report suggests that a permanent move could have complications.
Relegation would reportedly severely reduce Albion’s chances of signing the midfielder.
It is also suggested that the Turk’s initial positive performances could attract other suitors, and parent club Celta Vigo could be open to offers at the end of the season.
Immediate impact
It has not taken long for Yokuslu to adjust to the Premier League and he is exactly what we have been missing this season.
We wish that we had made a move for him sooner as he kept Manchester United quiet for large spells in his first start for the club.
Yokuslu impressed straight away in his short cameo against Tottenham last week.
He reminded us of Claudio Yacob with his three tackles in 12 minutes (SofaScore), and he continued where he left off on Sunday.
A return of two interceptions and four clearances (WhoScored) shows how Yokuslu helped to protect the back four.
The £31,000 a week player could be key over the next few games as we come up against Burnley, Brighton and Newcastle.
Strong showings in those matches may lead some fans to call for him to be signed permanently.
And if we win those three matches then surviving relegation may become realistic once more.
It is certainly a long shot so instead we should just be grateful that Yoksulu has helped to improve us.
We trusted Sam Allardyce to bring in quality players in January and he has seemingly done that – it is just a shame he had such a tight budget to work with.
