Kevin Donovan reacts to West Brom incident in 1-0 win v Brighton

Kevin Donovan has claimed that the “game has gone” after watching West Brom battle their way to a 1-0 victory against Brighton on Saturday.

The Seagulls were handed two penalties at The Hawthorns, but it was the first which sparked much controversy.

Okay Yokuslu appeared to handle the ball from a corner when trying to stay close to his man, and Donovan wasn’t happy with that decision.

Writing on his personal Twitter account after the victory on Saturday, Donovan wasn’t best pleased with the officials at The Hawthorns.

“Absolute disgrace,” he said. “The game has gone.”

This was just the start of the controversies.

Lee Mason had an absolute shocker in the middle with the whistle, and his performance overshadowed a great battling performance from the Albion.

It isn’t the first time this season that West Brom have been involved in games where the officials and VAR are in the heart of everything, and Big Sam will be fuming.

We wouldn’t go as far as to say the Yokuslu decision was a disgrace, as he did lead with his arm going into the challenge and was asking to be punished.

Donovan’s point certainly sticks for the rest of the clash though, it simply wasn’t good enough from the officials.

It leads to us asking every single week, when is this going to change? The standard in the so-called best league in the world is shocking, and the Premier League needs to sort this out as soon as possible.
