Quashie singles out Yokuslu and Bartley for extra praise after West Brom beat Brighton
Former Albion man Nigel Quashie has named Kyle Bartley as his man of the match from the dramatic clash between West Brom and Brighton.
Albion hung on for a 1-0 win as the Seagulls missed two penalties and had a free-kick goal ruled out under controversial circumstances.
Quashie was impressed by two players in Saturday’s important win as he also singled out Okay Yokuslu for significant praise.
“Okay Yokuslu set the tone from start to finish,” Quashie tweeted on Saturday evening.
“His game understanding was first class in breaking up play and protecting the back four to allow others to play.
“Kyle Bartley what a block that was at the end who was my MOM for me and has really taken to the armband!”
Yokuslu has been a revelation since he joined on loan from Celta Vigo while Bartley stepped up in the absence of Semi Ajayi.
Quashie has captured the feeling of the Albion fanbase as these two players have been impressive in recent weeks.
You wonder where we would be if we had Yokuslu from the start of the season or even the start of January.
Bartley was a man-mountain today with his goal and excellent all-round performance as we picked up a much-needed win.
He will need to maintain this high level of performance while Ajayi remains suspended and for the rest of the season after showing Big Sam exactly what he can do.
