Mark Lawrenson predicts winner in West Brom clash v Everton
Mark Lawrenson has backed Everton to leave West Brom with all three points in their Premier League clash on Thursday evening.
The BBC pundit has predicted that the Toffees will beat the Baggies 2-0, with Sam Allardyce’s tactics easy to predict beforehand.
West Brom are currently unbeaten in three games and have kept consecutive clean-sheets after their victory over Brighton on Saturday.
Writing in his BBC predictions column, Lawrenson has claimed that Everton are much better prepared to deal with the Baggies threat.
“West Brom got absolutely battered by Brighton on Saturday, but somehow emerged with the points,” he said.
“We know what Sam Allardyce’s side will do, which is load the box and look to hit Everton from set-pieces and open play, but Everton have got the defenders to deal with that.”
This is a different challenge to the Burnley and Brighton games, and Big Sam wasn’t exactly happy that it was rearranged to Thursday evening.
If Premier League survival is on the cards, the Albion will need to start winning these games and continue this little positive run.
Our January signings have hit the ground running, transforming our fortunes and they will be key to winning these games and ultimately staying up.
Everton have hit some form recently, beating Liverpool and Southampton recently before this midweek trip to The Hawthorns.
Allardyce will be confident in his side, with this new-found belief becoming a real weapon for the Albion in recent weeks.
