Sky Sports pundit backs Pereira to make the difference for West Brom v Brighton
Sky Sports pundit Lewis Jones is backing West Brom to draw with Everton on Thursday night and has identified a potential key player.
Sam Allardyce faces off against his former side this week after picking up a vital win against Brighton at the weekend.
Jones is tipping Albion to pick up another positive result and he believes Matheus Pereira could hold the key to West Brom’s success.
While doing his weekly predictions for Sky Sports, Jones said, “Allardyce has found a clever position for the tricky attacker off the right, meaning he can cut onto his left foot at every opportunity.
“In the draw with Burnley, he had six shots on goal with three hitting the target. With Everton likely to drop deep and allow shots at goal (they rank seventh for most shots faced in the league).
“Pereira should get lots of chances to let rip plus he takes penalties and all attacking set-pieces.”
Everton are gunning for a top-four spot so a positive result against the Toffees would be a fantastic achievement.
It would also be a boost to see a bit more of Pereira on Thursday as he hasn’t registered a goal or assist since the 2-2 draw with Fulham on January 30.
A draw would give us a confidence boost heading into another crucial game against fellow strugglers Newcastle on Sunday and a win here would be massive.
But first things first, we need to focus on taking points against Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
Grady Diangana and Pereira both came to life against the Toffees at Goodison Park earlier this season and we are hoping for a repeat performance here.
