Big Sam: Premier League chiefs are trying to get West Brom relegated

Sam Allardyce has continued his war of words with the Premier League after claiming they are conspiring to get West Brom relegated.

The Baggies boss has not been shy in voicing his displeasure at the decision to rearrange the Everton game for Thursday evening and staging the Newcastle United fixture less than 65 hours later.

But his latest claim is sure to send shockwaves through the Premier League headquarters.

As quoted on the Guardian website, Allardyce was still seething at the decision after their 1-0 loss to Everton on Thursday.

He said: “We asked if we could play it next Monday and they [the Premier League] said no.

“And then what do we have to do? Play at 12 on Sunday.

“Thank you very much, that’s really nice of you at the Premier League, helping us to get relegated, or trying to get us relegated. That’s how it is.

“You can ask for different dates or times but any one we asked for has been completely ignored.”

Trouble looming?

We think Big Sam might be in trouble after these comments.

Managers have to watch what they say these days to avoid being banned for mischevious comments and we fear Big Sam may have gone too far this time.

Is he wrong? Probably not.

It does seem like the Premier League have held little regard for us and our predicament with the fixtures aligned to suit Everton and help Newcastle.

But his constant wrangling over the matter is not going to change things and the focus should be on the players now as this matter is not going to change now.

The only thing it can do is harm our club if Big Sam is charged for these remarks.

That could result in him being barred from the touchline for some vital Premier League games coming up.

We do not want to see that as we need everyone present and pulling in the same direction if we are to stand any chance of lifting ourselves out of the relegation zone.

It might be wise for the gaffer to swallow his pride on this one.
