West Brom Super Fans disagree on Pereira role v Newcastle

This is part of a regular series from our panel of West Brom Super Fans. Each week, our Super Fans will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around The Hawthorns.

West Brom face Newcastle on Sunday in what is a must-win game if Albion are to have a hope of staying up.

It will be interesting to see if Sam Allardyce makes any changes to the side that lost 1-0 to Everton on Thursday.

He bemoaned the tight schedule so we might see things freshened up at The Hawthorns.

Semi Ajayi may be brought back while Matheus Pereira may be dropped after disappointing once again on the wing last time out.

Our West Brom super fans are split on the Brazilian and do not anticipate many changes on Sunday.

Here is what they had to say.

Big Sam has some important decisions to make ahead of kick-off.

He seems set on a midfield trio of Okay Yokuslu, Conor Gallagher and Ainsley Maitland-Niles and that means Pereira will be stuck out wide if he is to play.

The super fans above highlight the 24-year-old and his role may be key.

At his best he is capable of unlocking defences but he has failed to show that in recent games.

Also, against a physical team Allardyce may be more inclined to go with Robert Snodgrass, which some supporters have called for.

It is intriguing to see the backing of Dara O’Shea too, as it shows how good he’s been since replacing Ajayi when he was red-carded at Burnley.
