Chris Lepkowski responds to West Brom fans wanting Chris Wilder
Chris Lepkowski has shut down West Brom fans calling for Chis Wilder to take over after leaving Sheffield United on Friday.
The former Blades boss reportedly left Bramall Lane this morning after spending five years at the club and taking them to the Premier League from League One.
Lepkowski believes that Wilder doesn’t improve players and that his tactics are very one-dimensional, and therefore wouldn’t suit the Baggies.
Writing on his personal Twitter account, Lepkowski believes that the Baggies need a longer-term fix rather than papering over the cracks.
“Poor judgement in recruitment doesn’t improve players, unable to flex tactically,” he said. “No.
“Three players – at a push. And the rest? They are 20th. And by some distance. A short term hit, perhaps. But not what we need long term.”

Is this being serious?
We can’t think of much better appointments than Wilder, as he has proved all of those things in the past five years – not many have had similar success.
The one complaint would be his inability to change tactics, with his five-at-the-back formation found out this season in the Premier League.
There are suggestions that Sam Allardyce could stick around at The Hawthorns next season, even with relegation a likely possibility.
Big Sam has improved since the arrival of Mbaye Diagne and Okay Yokuslu, but those loanees won’t be around next season and that could be a problem.
Wilder masterminded the Blades’ return to the Premier League, and there aren’t many better than motivating a squad than him.
Should Big Sam pack up and leave after this campaign, the Albion could do much worst than making a push for Wilder to take over.
