Chris Lepkowski thrilled by Okay Yokuslu in West Brom defeat v Crystal Palace
There were very few positives for West Brom this afternoon as they crashed to a 1-0 defeat against Crystal Palace.
Big Sam was left furious as the only difference between the two sides was a penalty for the home side after Darnell Furlong was adjudged to have handed in the area.
West Brom have been heavily reliant on their loan signings since arriving in January, and it was Okay Yokuslu who was once again the standout figure.
Chris Lepkowski was thrilled by the Turkish international and labelled him perfect on his personal Twitter account during the clash at Selhurst Park.
“A player-cam on Yokuslu would be a great watch. Menacing but composed. A lovely footballer,” he said.
“Absolutely superb phase of play by Okay. Perfect example of textbook midfield play.”
Yokuslu has been nothing short of excellent since arriving at The Hawthorns.
Slaven Bilic left the club with Jake Livermore and Romaine Sawyers in holding midfield, and the fact that they were left there for half of the season is simply disgraceful.
The ability of Yokuslu defensively has allowed the likes of Conor Gallagher and Ainsley Maitland-Niles to push forward, although it wasn’t enough against Palace.
No one in the entire Baggies squad has a better WhoScored average match rating than the Turkish international, and he once again caught the eye yesterday.
With relegation looming, it feels unlikely that Yokuslu will stick around and that will be one of the biggest losses’ from this campaign.
