Danny Wright Fan Q&A: Callum Robinson unlikely to exit West Brom in summer

Callum Robinson joined West Brom permanently in the summer transfer window after a semi-successful loan spell at The Hawthorns in the Championship.
Slaven Bilic signed Robinson, 26, on loan from Sheffield United in January 2020 with the Republic of Ireland international going on to score three goals in 16 Championship appearances to help the Albion win promotion.
In the summer, Bilic landed Robinson from Sheffield United with Oliver Burke heading in the opposite direction on a permanent contract.

However, Robinson hasn’t stood out as much in the Premier League and is not getting a look in under Sam Allardyce in recent weeks.
We asked for your burning questions about the Baggies this week for West Brom News editor Danny Wright to answer.
Robinson’s lack of game-time was brought up by one supporter.

Robinson’s definitely fallen into the category of ‘players who have lost their standing in the squad since Big Sam came in’.
Up until Bilic’s sacking after the draw at Manchester City, Robinson had played in every single Premier League game except for the 1-1 at the Etihad. His run of appearances continued through the winter with Allardyce playing the ex-Aston Villa forward in his first nine league matches in charge at The Hawthorns. However, since his poor display at Sheffield United on February 2, Robinson has been an unused substitute since.
I wouldn’t say Big Sam has “frozen out” Robinson because he’s still making the bench and is very much involved in the squad. I’d say fellow forward players Kamil Grosicki and Kyle Edwards are ones who’ve been frozen out by Allardyce, with the latter not making a single matchday squad in the Premier League since January 26.
Robinson’s contracted to the Baggies until 2025. It’s a very long deal so even if Allardyce doesn’t fancy him, I doubt he’ll be someone who’s made available in the summer. With relegation looking likely, an experienced and proven Championship player like Robinson could come in very handy.
I think he’s a better winger than a centre-forward and hopefully he’ll be used that way if he does break back into the side.
In other West Brom news, an agent has confirmed the Albion have made a new free signing after a transfer fee was waived.
