Sam Allardyce admits West Brom dilemma over Callum Robinson & Karlan Grant

Sam Allardyce has shared his reasoning behind the lack of action for West Brom fringe forwards Callum Robinson and Karlan Grant.

Slaven Bilic brought both attackers to the Baggies permanently in the summer, but the duo have hardly featured under Big Sam.

Mbaye Diagne has cemented his spot in the final third, but he has only managed to find the back of the net once against Manchester United.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail, Allardyce claimed that he now has a selection dilemma ahead of him at The Hawthorns.

“You can say that they can push for a place, but the truth is they’d be in already if they had a better goal-scoring record,” he said.

“That’s a difficult scenario for me to answer. Do I put them in, and will that improve the performance and will they score a goal?

“Or do I stick with the players who have been playing so well, and who hopefully can turn it around by scoring a few more goals? It’s a dilemma for me to think about over the next three weeks.”

Grant and Robinson simply haven’t been good enough.

This is another example of two players coming to the club and failing miserably, with a relegation to the Championship possibly something that both of them need.

The Baggies duo have scored three times in a combined 29 starts this season in the Premier League, for comparison, Kyle Bartley has the same number.

It is getting to the stage where Diagne isn’t doing much better, with Hal Robson-Kanu also shocking off the bench and this pair may need to be used.

Grant and Robinson must prove themselves during this hard time, with them not being much use sat on the bench doing nothing.
