West Brom Super Fans are keen on move for Chris Wilder

This is part of a regular series from our panel of West Brom Super Fans. Each week, our Super Fans will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around The Hawthorns.

West Brom are reported to be interested in Chris Wilder as the successor to Sam Allardyce and our Super Fans would back the appointment.

Wilder’s arrival depends on Big Sam’s future, and the Daily Star suggest it is likely the Albion manager will depart.

West Brom have not looked up to Premier League football and that means any manager coming in would have a rebuilding job on their hands.

We have four first-team regulars who are on loan and several others whose contracts expire at the end of the season.

Wilder knows what it takes to build a Championship promotion squad and several Super Fans are encouraged by the links to him.

Here is what they have had to say.

The Super Fans are in agreement that Wilder would be a good choice to lead us in the Championship next season.

He was brilliant in the two years he spent as a manager in the second division.

Sheffield United lost just nine games in their promotion season in 2018/19 and then went on to play some great football in the Premier League last season.

The only doubt we have with regard to Wilder is the way the Blades have fallen from grace this season.

Also, it is likely Wilder would not have much to spend at The Hawthorns and Allardyce may hold the upper hand when it comes to recruitment, as some Super Fans have mentioned.
