Callum Robinson details West Brom frustration but denies Big Sam row

Callum Robinson has expressed his frustration at a lack of West Brom minutes recently but denied any clash with manager Sam Allardyce.

The 26-year-old forward has been an unused substitute for the past seven outings despite Albion struggling to pick up points or goals.

He started the season on fire with a double against Chelsea on September 26 but those goals have turned out to be his last for the club and now the £27,000 per week ace [Salary Sport] cannot even force his way onto the pitch via the bench.

As reported on the Express & Star website Robinson detailed his desire to force his way back into the Albion reckoning.

“There’s been no fallout there (at Albion). It’s just how it is, you know what football’s like, sometimes you’re in and sometimes you aren’t,” he said.

“It’s just how it goes sometimes in football, at the moment I’m obviously not in the team – I don’t want to not be in the team, I want to be playing and helping the lads but that’s obviously Big Sam’s choice at the moment and I’ve just got to keep grafting away.”

He added: “Obviously it’s annoying for me, I want to be out there playing and enjoying it as any professional would but at the moment I’m just having to bide my time.”

Robbo deserves another run-out

Robinson is currently on international duty with Republic of Ireland for their upcoming triple-header v Serbia, Luxembourg and Qatar.

Often international breaks can be disruptive and act as a source of frustration for managers but perhaps in the case of Robinson this can act as a springboard for another chance in the Albion first-team.

He has not played a single minute in the Premier League since February 2 and is sure to be itching to prove himself.

His omission from the team has been baffling as he started the five previous games prior to his Big Sam snub.

With only two goals scored in seven games without Robinson we think he deserves another opportunity.

Whether that be through the middle as a late replacement for Mbaye Diagne or from the left in place of Matheus Pereira or Matt Phillips he needs another chance to prove himself.

Relegation is looming and it might be time to inspire some confidence in a player who could prove vital in the Championship next season.
