Okay Yokuslu puts himself in shop window with brilliant Turkey display
Okay Yoksulu has taken his brilliant West Brom form into the international break with a fine performance against Norway on Saturday.
The midfielder also played really well in Turkey’s 4-2 win over The Netherlands on Wednesday but he took it up a notch against Norway.
Turkey dominated the 3-0 win and the midfield pairing of Yokuslu and Ozan Tufan were key to the three points – the latter earned SofaScore’s man of the match award.
However, we feel the Albion loanee was the best player on the pitch as he was extraordinary on and off the ball.
Yokuslu kept in-form Arsenal loanee Martin Odegaard quiet throughout and kept the ball for his team in style.
The 27-year-old ended the match with 96% pass accuracy, having conceded possession just five times, per SofaScore.
Yokuslu completed both of the long balls he attempted which included a brilliant first-time pass that culminated in Turkey’s first goal [Sky Sports].
He played with a freedom that we do not always get to see from him at The Hawthorns as he was finally playing in a team full of confidence that looked to attack constantly.
However, there were also familiar Yokuslu attributes on show as the Turk won four out of six duels.
The midfielder was never dribbled past and won a tackle against a Norway side he helped to completely nullify.
It was a complete performance from Yokuslu and will do him the world of good in attracting a new club.
That is a concern for us. We would love to keep him for next season but if he maintains his current form it is likely another Premier League team will move for him.
He has made a real difference since joining on loan as Albion have conceded just three goals in his six starts.
That kind of impact is bound to appeal to suitors and it seems our chances of keeping him are constantly reducing.
