West Brom want Fenerbahce midfielder Ozan Tufan but he is not keen on the move
West Brom are interested in signing Fenerbahce star Ozan Tufan but the midfielder does not welcome a switch to The Hawthorns, according to Sabah Spor.
The Turkey international wants a move to the Premier League so Albion’s position in the relegation zone may deter Tufan from joining.
The report suggests Crystal Palace want the 26-year-old and, according to Ajansspor, Everton are also keen on Tufan.
Tufan is a teammate of Okay Yokuslu with his national team and his style has been likened to Yaya Toure by The Sun.
Premier League appeal
Tufan is an accomplished player and outperformed Yokulu in Turkey’s recent 3-0 win over Norway, achieving a SofaScore rating of 8.7 to Yokuslu’s 7.0.
That highlights how good he is, so he would likely be an improvement on our current midfield options.
Unfortunately, it does not seem he will join because it is unlikely we will be in the Premier League next season – that is a factor that may prevent us from signing other targets.
We would like West Brom to sign Yokuslu permanently but he also wants to play in the top-flight – the same can be said of Mbaye Diagne.
Albion may also struggle to hold onto Sam Johnstone and Matheus Pereira due to their own ambitions.
We face a difficult summer, therefore, but with Sam Allardyce at the helm we will no doubt have a number of names to sift through.
In January Albion missed out on a host of targets [Shropshire Star] but in the end Big Sam managed to bring in reinforcements who improved the team.
Let’s hope he can do the same once again, if he stays.
