Joseph Masi says Okay Yokuslu will leave if West Brom are relegated

Okay Yokuslu has been superb for West Brom but Express and Star journalist Joseph Masi expects him to leave if Albion are relegated.

The midfielder has earned plaudits from the likes of Karen Carney [Amazon Prime] and Kevin Phillips since signing on loan in January.

His form is beginning to gain attention, according to Masi, who predicts the Turkey international will not sign on a permanent basis if West Brom are in the Championship.

Masi said on the Baggies Broadcast podcast, “Yoksulu, I’ve started to speak to other reporters about him, people are bringing him up to me.

“100% he’s not staying if they go down.”

Potential big loss

Yokuslu has made the biggest impact of any of our January signings and it would be shame to lose him in the summer.

He has improved us massively from a defensive point of view and was a key part of the brilliant football we played against Chelsea and Southampton.

Naturally, he has probably attracted interest from elsewhere in the Premier League.

If he chooses not to join us in our bid to get promotion from the Championship – which is likely where we will be next year – then a rebuild is needed.

Conor Gallagher and Ainsley Maitland-Niles are also unlikely to stay on if relegated so Luke Dowling will have to construct an entirely different midfield.

Signing someone in the mould of Yokuslu is essential.

His 2.2 tackles and 1.7 interceptions per game [WhoScored] have been vital to breaking up play and winning the ball back.

We need a player like that if we are to dominate teams next year.

Credit must go to Dowling and Sam Allardyce for finding Yokuslu and persuading him to join.

Hopefully, Big Sam stays and finds a similar replacement if Yokuslu decides to leave.
