Sam Allardyce confirms West Brom injury blows to Robert Snodgrass & Kyle Bartley

Sam Allardyce has confirmed injury blows to West Brom duo Robert Snodgrass and Kyle Bartley after the 3-0 win over Southampton.

The midfielder will miss the next clash against Leicester next week, after having an epidural to help solve his pain.

Bartley has been a colossus at the heart of defence since Big Sam arrived, but was forced off with what has been described as a slight calf strain.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail after the clash, Allardyce shared the issues facing two of his key men this season moving forward.

“Robert has had an epidural. It will probably be seven to 10 days before he is back in action,” he said.

“Kyle Bartley probably a slight calf strain.”

Problems?

Given that we don’t travel to Leicester until next Thursday, Bartley should be fine to take his place and continue his phenomenal run of form at the King Power.

Snodgrass should miss out, but that won’t be too much of a problem.

The midfield three of Okay Yokuslu, Conor Gallagher and Ainsley Maitland-Niles isn’t going to change between now and the end of the season, that much is all but confirmed.

Snodgrass could also play on the right if needed, but Matt Phillips has nailed down his spot there, and his goal against the Saints should be enough to see him start next week.

Big Sam has found his set starting XI now after months of trying to find that right formula, it may have come too late, but these injuries shouldn’t change anything dramatically.
