Messages of support pour in for Darren Moore after West Brom hero suffers health scare

Many football figures has banded together to voice their messages of support for Darren Moore after the West Brom legend became ill with pneumonia.

Moore made over 100 appearances for the Albion at the turn of the century and was hugely popular around the club during his playing days before managing the Baggies between 2018-19.

After leaving West Brom he ended up at Doncaster Rovers before being handed the reigns at Championship strugglers Sheffield Wednesday in March.

But he told the Sheffield Wednesday club website that he had developed pneumonia after contracting COVID-19 and was in “extreme discomfort”.

Many football figures far and wide rallied around Moore to voice their support for Moore, with the West Bromwich Albion Twitter account saying: “Wishing you a speedy recovery, Mooro. You’ve got this.”

Ex-Albion kit man Pat Frost, currently working for the England national team, was another to send his backing: “Thinking about the legend that is Darren Moore,” he tweeted.

West Brom journalist Adrian Goldberg also tweeted a message of support.

Rooting for you Big Dave

Moore, or Big Dave as he’s affectionately known around these parts, has been an inspirational leader at our club and commands the highest of respect around football so it’s no wonder he is receiving messages of support by the bucketload.

It sounds like he is going through a rather horrible episode at the moment and so football has to take a backseat in all this as he is allowed to rest and recuperate at home.

We’re hoping to see him back in action sooner rather than later and we could end up meeting each other next season with Albion heading towards an instant return back to the Championship.

His Sheffield Wednesday side are in a perilous position of their own but if they mirror the strength of their manager they will stand themselves a good chance of digging themselves out of their hole.

At West Brom News we can only reiterate the previous messages and hope Mooro gets better and healthy as soon as possible so that we can see him bouncing on the sidelines again, doing what he does best.
