Chris Sutton destroys Mbaye Diagne in West Brom clash v Leicester City
Chris Sutton has destroyed West Brom forward Mbaye Diagne after the first half of the Premier League clash against Leicester City this evening.
The Galatasaray loanee was handed the perfect chance to open the scoring at the King Power Stadium but completely fluffed his lines.
Sutton claimed it was a “horrible” attempt to try and score, especially after Matheus Pereira was unselfish in the build-up.
Speaking during live commentary of the game on BT Sport, Sutton was far from impressed with the technique on show from the loanee.
“It was a horrible attempt,” he said.
“He completely miskicked it.”
Awful.
This is becoming a real concern.
Diagne is showing great signs in terms of his ability to unsettle defences and bring his teammates into play at The Hawthorns, but his finishing is shocking, to say the least.
The Galatasaray loanee came with the reputation that he is a goalscorer, but we have never seen one of those types of players miss the target as much as he does.
We don’t want to get on his back this much, but when you are scrapping for survival in the Premier League, you can’t miss the chances he does.
You think back to the games against the likes of Burnley at Turf Moor and Everton at home, and his chances could have earned us five extra points.
Diagne still has time to put this right, and we hope he can do exactly that between now and the end of this current campaign with one month to play.
