Thierry Henry has been thrilled by West Brom playmaker Matheus Pereira while covering the clash with Wolves on Sky Sports.
The Brazilian started alongside Mbaye Diagne at The Hawthorns but wasted a couple of early chances to hand his side the lead.
Henry has been that impressed that he has even mooted a summer exit for Pereira, with relegation looming over the Baggies.
Speaking on Sky Sports this evening, Henry singled out Pereira as the one player who makes everything tick for the Albion.
“Every time they do something this season, it was often because he played well,” he said.
“I like him a lot, sorry to say this Baggies fans but I don’t think he will be there next year. I think a lot of teams will try to get him.
“I like him on the ball, he has an eye for a pass, skilful and he can score goals. Everything goes through him, he makes the team tick.”
Pereira has been phenomenal this season, but even he has stepped it up in the past couple of months, something everyone has taken notice of.
We’re hoping that it isn’t a last-ditch effort to earn himself a bigger move at the end of the season given that relegation is likely, with numerous teams sniffing around his situation.
The Athletic have even reported that Aston Villa are one of the teams potentially ready to make a move for the South American, and that would be awful to see.
Henry knows what it takes to become a Premier League legend, so to have him in your fan club, you must be doing something right, and Pereira is doing exactly that this season.
