Alan Nixon: Chris Wilder can have WBA job if he is keen on it

Reliable journalist Alan Nixon has claimed that Chris Wilder can have the vacant West Brom job if he wants it this summer.

The former Blades manager has emerged as the favourite for The Hawthorns hot seat ever since Sam Allardyce stepped down from the role.

Coming to the club with the reputation of never being relegated, Big Sam failed to deliver on his promises, but decided to leave the club on his own accord – despite them wanting him to stay.

For the next manager, promotion will be the first milestone, but the challenge will then be to ensure Premier League sustainability.

Wilder has achieved promotion on five different occasions and is seen by many as the ideal man for the job.

While answering fan questions on Twitter, Nixon provided an important update on the West Brom managerial situation.

Announcement awaiting

There have been a number of names being thrown in the hate, but very few make a realistic case for being our next manager.

Thus far, Wilder’s CV and recent success with Sheffield United, despite relegation, makes him a strong candidate for the role.

He’s also been labelled an ‘outstanding’ manager by arguably the best coach in the world at the moment – Pep Guardiola. [talkSPORT]

He’s had the experience of rebuilding sides and getting his teams to punch above their weight – something the Baggies failed to do after promotion.

His unique style of football may have been figured out by most Premier League sides, but he’s committed to playing the game the right way and will be entertaining for the fans now that crowds are set to be back in for next season.

There have been mistakes made by Wilder in the last 12 months, which eventually led to him losing his job, but we’re hoping he’s learnt from them and is ready to attain promotion with us.

Whoever the next manager is, it’s important we make an announcement soon as the entire transfer recruitment will hinge on his playing philosophy and contacts in the game.
