West Brom leading race to sign Cyle Larin – report
West Brom are leading the race to sign Besiktas forward Cyle Larin in the upcoming summer window, according to Sozcu.
The Turkish outlet has reported on their website that West Ham are also at the top of the race, with the Candian keen on a switch to England.
It is suggested that the Baggies are wanting to bring the 19-goal forward in, but may have to spend up to £13million to make that happen.
Larin has been linked with numerous moves to England.
After smashing in the most goals in the Turkish League, the Canadian international is at the top of his game ahead of his biggest move.
West Ham appears to be in the driving seat ahead of the Baggies though, with Premier League and Europa League on the table for them to offer.
Bigger problems.
The Baggies have little to no chance of this happening over the summer.
With the Championship beckoning after relegation, there is a lack of funds, and with a manager search ongoing, it is hard to know who is making this shortlist.
What if someone such as Chris Wilder was to arrive and then Larin isn’t someone that they want to bring in to The Hawthorns?
Larin being worth up to £13million also makes this one a non-starter.
We haven’t been a club that spends big money, even after promotion to the Premier League last season, so this one appears unlikely.
Matheus Pereira and Sam Johnstone could likely leave this summer, and this money could be our saving grace, time will tell.
