Paul Scharner responds as Luke Dowling leaves West Brom
Paul Scharner has responded to the news that Luke Dowling has left West Brom on Monday afternoon.
The former Baggies defender has made it no secret that he would love a job on the board at The Hawthorns in the past.
As soon as Dowling left, Scharner admitted that he is “ready” to take his role if he is given the nod.
Writing on his personal Twitter account on Monday, Scharner instantly threw his name into the hat.
“I’m ready,” he wrote.
“Make Albion great again.”
Could it get any worst? Dowling has plenty of experience behind his name, but that didn’t help him do a very good job.
After Xu Ke and Guochuan Lai lost trust in Dowling, the manager search took a real hit, with the likes of Chris Wilder, David Wagner and Michael Appleton coming and going.
We need passion.
Scharner has that in abundance, and the Austrian was never afraid to make his voice heard during his playing days at The Hawthorns.
In an era where everything is silent, Scharner could be the man to come in and make a difference, growing that link back with the fans.
His first job would be the most important, find the man who can take us back to the Premier League immediately.
It could be make or break, so he needs to have a plan, this can’t be a novelty decision made by the board.
