Joseph Masi shares an update on Matheus Pereira amid interest from PL & German clubs
According to Express & Star journalist Joseph Masi, clubs from the Premier League and Bundesliga are readying bids to sign West Brom star Matheus Pereira.
The report states that initial murmurs in the media surrounding a £15million valuation have been mooted but the club are looking for a ‘significantly’ higher fee if they are to part ways with the Brazilian.
To complicate matters and force West Brom’s resolve, there is now interest from overseas as well and not just the Premier League, making it that much more difficult to keep him at the Hawthorns.
Get it over with
These reports keep flowing in and it feels like we’re eventually, going to lose our man despite our efforts.
He’s clearly got loftier ambitions and the talent to play for bigger teams in the bigger leagues, and it will be very hard to sell him a proper project here at the Hawthorns.
We’ve botched our managerial hunt and there’s no reason why we wouldn’t do the same with our quest to hold on to the Brazilian who has been referred to as ‘exciting’ by Emile Heskey. [HITC]
As of now he’s on vacation and must be a silent observer but eventually, he is going to step his foot down and demand answers.
The best thing we can do is send him out on loan for a season and assess the situation next summer depending on our status in the Championship or the Premier League.
Pereira was been pivotal to our last promotion pushing when he scored eight and assisted 20 and we can expect similar, if not better numbers next season if we miraculously manage to hold on to him.
However, given how things are going, that seems like a big IF.
