West Brom want to sign Jack Hendry, Valerien Ismael admirer - report
West Brom still want to sign Oostende defender Jack Hendry in this window, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper has reported on their website that Valerien Ismael is a big admirer of the Scottish international, who just featured in all three EUROs games.
Hendry has only just turned his move to Belgium permanent for £1.8million, although £5million could seal another move.
Ismael has been at the club a matter of days, and plenty of names have already been linked with moves.
Hendry has been mentioned for many weeks now, although the Frenchman arriving hasn’t changed that interest.
It was suggested that Ismael wanted the defender during his time at Oakwell, but couldn’t complete that switch.
Although Hendry may be a cracking player, we are left asking ourselves whether or not we actually need him.
Kyle Bartley, Semi Ajayi and Dara O’Shea have all shined in the Championship before, and will no doubt look to do the same again.
The 26-year-old looks destined to make the move to England or even back to Scotland this summer, and at £5million he could be a snip.
Described as “stylish” in the report, he proved that with his goal against Holland in the warm-up fixtures for the EUROs.
Ismael will be looking to put his own stamp on this squad quickly, with pre-season already around the corner.
Will Hendry be his first signing? Time will tell, but Alex Mowatt has already been strongly linked, and midfield is certainly an area of bigger concern right now
