Matheus Pereira’s agent speaks out about West Brom future
Matheus Pereira’s agent has spoken out about the Brazilian’s situation at West Brom with speculation surrounding his future at The Hawthorns.
Pereira, 25, was one of very few shining lights for the Baggies last season as they were relegated from the Premier League and he’s since been linked with a return to England’s top-flight.
According to the Express, Leeds have been offered the chance to sign the attacking midfielder.

Jolden Vergette, Pereira’s agent, has since kept his cards close to his chest when speaking about his client’s future.
“We still don’t have a definition about it. The market is just starting,” Vergette told the Express.
When asked about a potential return to the Premier League, Vergette added: “It will present itself. He deserves a club that can follow his work at a high level.”

Get it done sooner, rather than later
It’s widely expected that Pereira will leave West Brom this summer.
Last term, the Brazilian ace proved that he can perform in the Premier League and he deserves the chance to play for a top English club that is settled in the top-flight.
Hopefully it’s not Aston Villa or Wolves who come in for the 25-year-old, but the sooner he’s sold, the better it will be for West Brom.
We don’t want to see Pereira go but let’s face reality and accept that he’s too good for the Championship and it’s about time the club starts to sell players at their maximum value rather than keeping them around longer than they should.
Once Pereira’s future is clarified, Valerien Ismael will have a good idea of how much he can spend on a replacement and while we think he may struggle to sign someone as good as the ex-Sporting CP man, at least he’ll have the money to pull something off.
Some of that money can then go towards signings in other areas but we should have enough to avoid loan deals that lack an option to buy clause.
We’ve been stung by that in the past so let’s hope any loan deals we do this summer end up in the way Pereira’s loan did.
In other West Brom news, FIFA has responded to an allegation that the Baggies considered an illicit transfer involving Pereira in January.
