Adam Murray set to join Valerien Ismael at West Brom
West Brom are set to bring in Adam Murray from Barnsley to partner Valerien Ismael at the Hawthorns, according to The Athletic journalist Matt Slater.
Writing on his personal Twitter account on Thursday, Slater claims 39-year-old Murray will leave Oakwell to join Ismael at the Baggies as the former Barnsley boss begins to assemble his backroom staff ahead of the 2021/22 Championship campaign. However, Yorkshire Post journalist Leon Wobschall claims that there has been nothing official yet.

The West Brom revolution in full flow?
Ismael has wasted absolutely no time since he was appointed as West Brom boss last week and, along with Murray, Alex Mowatt is also set to join the Baggies [Express & Star].
Ismael’s Barnsley side were the surprise package of the 2020/21 Championship season, reaching the play-off semi-finals.
Therefore, it is no surprise to see the Frenchman bringing in some key members of his Barnsley team both on the pitch and off the pitch.
Given that Ismael only worked with Murray from October 2020, he must have made quite the impression on the Frenchman, and it will be intriguing to see how he does in this new role.

West Brom had an awful season in 2020/21 as they were relegated from the Premier League after winning just five games, and it is no surprise to see the Baggies go for a new approach after Sam Allardyce failed to keep West Brom in the top flight.
Ismael favours a direct style of play and high pressing, so whatever happens in the coming season, it should be entertaining, and Murray could play a big part for the Baggies [The Athletic].
In other West Brom news, Kevin Phillips claims this defender could be ‘solid signing’ for the club.
