Valerien Ismael meets Tony Brown and Chris Brunt at West Brom
Valerien Ismael has met West Brom legends Tony ‘Bomber’ Brown and Chris Brunt at The Hawthorns.
Ismael, 45, was appointed as West Brom’s new manager last week to end their protracted search for a successor to Sam Allardyce.
And it seems the Frenchman has wasted no time in getting to know the history of his new club by meeting Bomber and Brunty.
Ismael took to his personal Twitter account to share an image of himself and the two former Albion favourites, saying: “It was an honour to meet you.”
Ismael is unlikely to have known much about West Bromwich Albion Football Club before he arrived at The Hawthorns.
However, after spending some time with Bomber Brown and Brunt, you can imagine he’ll know a lot more know than he did.
Brown will have no doubt shared some of his stories from the past.
Albion’s all-time record goalscorer and appearance holder is the ultimate legend at The Hawthorns while Brunt is definitely more a modern-day one.
He played a massive role in our recent history, helping establish the club in the Premier League and making over 400 appearances for us.
Ismael’s definitely done his part to endear himself to the fans since arriving at The Hawthorns while the addition of Alex Mowatt is also a promising first foray into the transfer market.
Let’s see how he does where it matters most though when the players are out there on the pitch in the Championship.
