Former West Brom man Kyle Edwards on trial with Reading
Former West Brom winger Kyle Edwards has had a trial with Reading as the 23-year-old looks for a new home following his Albion release, according to BerkshireLive reporter Jonathan Low.
Low claims that the Englishman played for the Royals in a trial match on Saturday but said that Reading aren’t the only club having a look at him, with Celtic also linked in “recent days”.
It doesn’t appear as if Edwards is struggling to draw attention, and it will be intriguing to see if this trial leads to a move for Edwards as he looks to find a new club before the start of the 2021/22 season.
Edwards to Reading?
The Royals are currently under a transfer embargo, so they can’t spend any money on players [BerkshireLive]. Therefore, a move for Edwards makes perfect sense, especially when you see that Reading released a load of players at the end of the 2020/21 campaign [Berkshire Live].
While Edwards was with West Brom, he made 32 Championship appearances, so he has experience of playing in the league.
He is also versatile, and while he was with the Baggies scored four goals and provided five assists, so though West Brom released him, he could still do a job for another team.

The 23-year-old possibly felt harshly done by when the Baggies released him, but it is good to see him linked with Celtic and also good to see Reading giving him a trial, and hopefully, he finds a club where he can kick on [Daily Record].
It will be intriguing to see where Edwards ends up, but if he does sign for Reading, West Brom better hope that he doesn’t come back to haunt them either home or away.
