West Brom fans are up in arms after a report claiming Aston Villa have agreed to sign 20-year-old Albion midfielder Finn Azaz.

According to Football Insider, Villa are set to poach another talent from The Hawthorns, with the Birmingham-born starlet apparently set to imminently seal a move to Villa Park.

Azaz has yet to make his debut for the Albion first team, but he looks likely to join Tim Iroegbunam, who is heading in the same direction after rejecting a new deal with the West Midlands club.

Louie Barry is another Albion academy graduate already at Villa Park, having made the move last year via Barcelona.

We posted the news on our West Brom News Facebook page, and our panel of Super Fans voiced their concern that another exciting young talent is set to be prised away by their Midlands rivals.

Here’s what they had to say…

Kick in the teeth

It’s another disheartening piece of news for Albion fans, to add to a long list of disappointments.

Even when events are not transpiring as hoped for the first team, supporters always like to look to the future and pin their hopes on some emerging stars that are coming through the ranks.

Unfortunately, it seems as if the academy is just churning out talent for other clubs, in particular Villa.

After an encouraging loan spell at Cheltenham Town last season, who he helped to win the League Two title, making 44 appearances for the Robins, there were some fans hoping he would get some game time under Valerien Ismael in the Championship.

At the very least, it was thought he would get another loan spell, either in League One or at the bottom end of the Championship.

However, it appears that he is set to become Villa’s latest recruit, and it’s a move that will leave fans pondering the existence of the Albion youth academy.

In other West Brom news, Albion want to sign this Aston Villa player with two EFL promotions under his belt.
