Al Hilal table bid for West Brom star Matheus Pereira, Brazilian weighs up lucrative offer
Saudi-Arabian giants Al Hilal have made a £12.8million offer for West Brom attacker Matheus Pereira, according to Joao Castelo-Branco.
The ESPN journalist, writing via his personal Twitter profile on Tuesday evening [27/07/21], claims the 25-year-old Brazilian is weighing up a proposal.
He wrote: “Matheus Pereira considering Al Hilal offer – He would like to play in the Premier League but salary is tempting. The Saudi club offered 15million Euros [£12.8million] to West Brom. They want £30million from Premier League clubs, but I would guess if no such offers are made they could accept at the end of the window.”
That’s a pretty insulting offer for one of the Premier League stars of the second half of last season.
After a relatively slow start the Brazilian lit up the top-flight with a series of stunning displays for the struggling Albion, and he could count himself unfortunate that he suffered relegation heartache as he contributed a lot to the survival cause.
His future has dominated the summer so far, with numerous Premier League clubs said to be hot on his trail, particularly West Ham.

But Al Hilal have also been heavily linked, and it looks like they have firmed up their interest with an eight-figure bid.
However, it still shows they’re not very serious.
Albion’s £30million valuation of Pereira is more than fair, and we have to hold out for a figure in that ballpark, and we certainly cannot accept a bid that is nearly a third of the price.
We’re resigned to his exit, but let’s at least get a big and fair fee to reinvest in the squad this summer.
