Birmingham Mail journalist wants West Brom to re-sign Kyle Edwards ahead of Adam Reach
Birmingham Mail journalist Graeme Brown has made a big suggestion after hearing reports that West Brom want to sign 28-year-old free agent Adam Reach.
The winger left Sheffield Wednesday last month after the expiration of his contract, and The Sun journalist Alan Nixon claimed on Sunday morning [25/07/21] that he could be a “surprise addition” at the West Midlands club this summer.
Later that day Brown took to his personal Twitter profile and wrote: “Can’t help but reflect I’d have Kyle Edwards over Adam Reach.”
Reach for the…mid-range signings?
As a proven Championship performer who can play in a variety of different positions, Reach would certainly be a valuable addition to the Albion.
However, despite having a penchant for the spectacular with a number of long-range stunners during his five-season stay with the Owls, it wouldn’t be a signing that excites fans at The Hawthorns.
He’s not someone to get supporters off their seats, aside from his occasional rocket shots from distance, and it might feel a waste of a wage when there are some considerable talents coming out of the academy, though it seems as if they are disappearing one by one.

Edwards was someone who got people excited as he rose through the ranks after joining Albion at the age of six, but the 23-year-old was released this summer after playing just eight times last season.
He’s now trialling at different clubs around the UK, and there have been some supporters who have questioned his exit, believing new manager Valerien Ismael could get the best out of him.
However, it’s probably reached the point where the Dudley-born attacker needs guaranteed game time to build himself a proper career and reach his potential.
