West Brom could be handed Darren Randolph in potential deals

West Brom could be handed the chance to sign West Ham United goalkeeper Darren Randolph this summer.

It has been made no secret that the Irons are interested in both Sam Johnstone and Matheus Pereira, and a swap deal has now been mooted.

West Ham insider ExWHUemployee has shared an update on Saturday, with a £15million move potentially in-bound for Pereira.

Writing on the West Ham Way Patreon this morning, ExWHUemployee shared the update that could see another signing at The Hawthorns.

“Whilst David Moyes has said to Randolph that he is happy for him to stay at the club,” he wrote.

“The board feel he may have to move on as there is no point having this many keepers on the books.

“An ideal situation would be for West Brom to sell Johnstone and for us to be able to offer Randolph in a deal for Pereria (the domino effect I often speak of).”

Smart?

This appears unlikely given the past week in terms of other transfers.

West Ham have already signed Alphonse Areola on loan from Paris-Saint Germain, so it appears unlikely that they will go for Sam Johnstone too.

That leaves Pereira.

While we likely need to sell the Brazilian for our own transfer plans, including a goalkeeper, doesn’t help us if we lose our best player, and would only drop the cash offer.

David Button is expected to start that game against Bournemouth should Johnstone leave The Hawthorns, but that doesn’t look like happening at this moment in time.

Valerien Ismael should be happy with his options in-between the sticks, and there is no need to accept any deal that doesn’t suit the club.
