Pat Frost: West Brom should sell Matheus Pereira as quick as possible
West Brom head coach Valerien Ismael has revealed Matheus Pereira will not be involved in his plans when the new Championship campaign starts.
The Brazilian was not involved in action for the Baggies during pre-season as he holds out for an exit, and the boss has made it clear he is not committed to the club [Birmingham Mail].
Former West Brom kit man Pat Frost wants Pereira sold as soon as possible in order to reinvest the funds from his sales as quickly as they can.
The England kit man took to his personal Twitter account to post: “I like Ismael’s honesty regarding Matheus Pereira. There hasn’t been enough of it over the last few seasons at WBA.
“Get him sold as quick as possible and reinvest the funds sooner rather than later.”
Spot On!
The attacking midfielder wants to leave The Hawthorns this summer, and in all sincerity, he deserves to be playing in the Premier League.
However, refusing to commit to the club while still contracted to us is childish.
West Brom are not standing in his way and are only demanding that his suitors meet their asking price.
With three years still left on his deal, it is only right if we refuse to let such a talented player leave on a cheap.
None of his suitors have come any close to meeting the club’s demands, and that is proving to be a problem.
The Championship campaign kicks off this weekend, and Pereira is not going to be featuring.
With just roughly a month left in the summer transfer window, Ismael needs to bring in a replacement as soon as possible, but all that depends on the Brazilian’s exit.
West Brom could either be forced to beat their fee down or hold on to the player against his wishes.
We hope a resolution can be reached in the coming days, but Pereira needs to act professional from now until a decision is reached.
He remains our player until he signs on the dotted lines of another club.
