West Brom star Matheus Pereira slams recent reports in open letter on Monday
Matheus Pereira has launched an impassioned defence of his character after several reports about the West Brom attacker emerged.
Several outlets and journalists have recently run reports that the 25-year-old is not committed to the club as he seeks pastures new after Albion’s Premier League relegation last season.
A whole host of top-flight clubs have been linked with him, including West Ham, but it appears Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal have been near the front of the queue for his signature.

The Brazilian has responded to recent rumours in an open letter via his personal Twitter profile on Monday afternoon [02/08/21].
Within the letter he slams speculation that he is not committed, saying it is “extremely wrong”.
He also claims he doesn’t want to leave “through the back door”, but reiterates his desire to secure an exit this summer, after receiving an offer three weeks ago that would “change my life forever”.
Who’s right and who’s wrong?
After a relatively quiet beginning to the window when everything appeared to be running quite smoothly, events have taken a sour turn and now it appears that the player and club are embroiled in a bitter row over his potential departure.
New Albion manager Valerien Ismael was pretty calm about everything at the start, but his recent comments suggest his stance over Pereira has changed, and he is unimpressed.
Reports from the weekend have started to emerge with some claiming all is not well with Pereira at The Hawthorns, but the Brazilian has come out to fight his corner.
It’s a brave move and it’s one that’s unlikely to row back much support after many supporters started to turn against him, but it’s hard to know the full story, and perhaps we will never know, at least until he finally leaves the club.
In other West Brom news, Albion are on the brink of another major signing, deal could be clinched within 24 hours.
