West Brom to complete Adam Reach transfer early this week

West Brom are set to confirm the signing of free-agent Adam Reach early this week, according to the Express and Star.

Valerien Ismael has been working with limited funds since arriving from Barnsley and looks set to seal another bargain move.

Reach has also attracted interest from Blackburn, but looks to have chosen The Hawthorns as his next step.

The experienced Championship star can play in every position down the left, and will offer great competition in this squad.

After shining for many years at Hillsborough, Reach left after financial issues led to relegation down to League One.

Conor Townsend will no doubt start, as well as the likes of Grady Diangana, but it will be brilliant to finally have some real competition.

Kamil Grosicki came and went in the space of the past couple of years, and never looked determined enough to cement his spot in the side.

Strength.

Ismael won’t stand for any passengers, that has been made very clear during pre-season over the past month.

We looked electric against Birmingham on Saturday, and the high-press and intensity proves we will need numerous options for rotation.

Reach is perfect for that, with the Baggies needing to beef out their squad so there is no need to have a bench filled with under-23s.

Of course, we want our academy players to thrive, but the Championship is unforgiving and sometimes you need real experience to come on.

Reach is perfect for that, and we’re excited by this really smart piece of business by the Baggies and Ismael.
