The players love what they have seen so far under Ismael, and long may it continue.
We are not reading much into it, but the pre-season games and results have been the perfect indicator of how things are back at the Palm training ground.
The Baggies secured a 1-0 win over Woking, a 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday, a goalless draw against Watford before the 4-0 demolition of Birmingham City heading into Friday’s Championship opener against Bournemouth, and they now need to take that form into the new campaign.
The boss and his men are all focused on earning promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season, and to hear that the players are feeling happy and raring to go is very encouraging.
Hopefully, it results in automatic promotion or at worst, a place in the play-offs.
