West Brom star Matheus Pereira completes medical before Al Hilal move
West Brom star Matheus Pereira has completed his medical in France before completing his move to Al Hilal, according to a tweet from Hasan Alasiri.
The Al Hilal insider with over 216,000 followers on Twitter revealed on his personal account that the 25-year-old had “completed” his medical and is “now in a meeting” with Al Hilal.
It was revealed earlier in the week that the Saudi Arabian side were close to signing the Brazilian, and now it appears as if the deal is nearly done [Fabrizio Romano]. If this information is true, we can expect Pereira to be announced as an Al Hilal player imminently.
Finally, this saga is nearly over.
Pereira was a standout player for the Baggies last season, and many Premier League clubs were said to be interested in signing the attacking midfielder.
However, Pereira hinted in a statement that he released earlier this week that he had received an incredible financial offer [Pereira’s Twitter account]. It seems as if that offer came from Al Hilal.
The Baggies acted swiftly after Pereira’s statement, and it appears as if this saga is now over. It is a shame that the 25-year-old has decided to follow the money rather than play in a competitive league, but that’s his choice.

West Brom should make a decent amount from Pereira’s transfer, and hopefully, they reinvest the money back into Valerien Ismael’s squad.
This has been a boring saga, but it appears as if a conclusion is approaching that will see Pereira get his wish but also allow the Baggies to shift an unhappy player and potentially pocket a decent profit.
Ultimately, it has been a win-win situation, and West Brom can now focus on the season ahead.
