Sam Johnstone posts cryptic Twitter message
West Brom got their Championship season underway with a 2-2 draw last night against Bournemouth.
One of the biggest talking points was Sam Johnstone being placed on the bench after being away with England this summer.
David Button was preferred by Valerien Ismael, who simply put it down to more preparation rather than any exit speculation.

That speculation has been rife all summer, with West Ham and Arsenal two of the clubs strongly linked.
Johnstone’s future is far from straightforward, and the Athletic even reported this week that he could sign a new deal.
Talks have begun, and there is likely to be a small release clause involved should we fail to earn promotion.
Johnstone has taken to his personal Twitter account on Saturday morning and has posted a cryptic message.
Announcement soon?
We’re hoping that this means an announcement is coming soon, and it would be excellent news for everyone involved.
It stops Johnstone from leaving next season for free but also gives him the chance to leave for free if we fail to earn promotion.
With this tweet being shared, it could be as early as today, and that would be perfect news for Ismael compared to the Matheus Pereira news.
The Brazilian packed his bags and left as soon as the money came calling, something that didn’t happen with Johnstone.
It’s time to get excited, hopefully we can celebrate a new huge contract at The Hawthorns sooner rather than later.
