West Brom want Daryl Dike and Liam Delap this summer
West Brom are interested in signing Orlando City striker Daryl Dike, according to The Express and Star journalist Joseph Masi.
The Baggies are also keen on Manchester City under-23s striker Liam Delap, but he is very much in demand by clubs in the Championship.
Dike, a U.S.A international, spent the second half of last season on loan under Valerien Ismael at Barnsley, and Orlando could be open to sending the 21-year-old American out on loan again for a significant loan fee.
Masi took to his personal Twitter account to correlate the information on the website.
Reunion on the cards?
Valerien brought Dike to Oakwell, and he could be keen on a reunion given West Brom’s dire need for a number 9.
The youngster bagged nine goals in 19 appearances for Barnsley, and having such an option could help boost our promotion chances.
With Ismael’s old club priced out of a permanent move for the American despite having an option to do so at the end of last season, it could be good news for the Baggies.
Dike already knows what to expect playing under the Frenchman, and his lack of pre-season training at the Hawthorns would not mean much.
Delap bagged 27 goals in 24 Premier League 2 games for Man City’s under-23s last term, and that makes him an exciting prospect to sign.
However, with the likes of Derby County and Stoke City interested, landing him could be herculean, and it is best we move for a player very within our reach and likely willing to play for Ismael again.
The chance to play in the Premier League would be appealing to the U.S.A international who won the CONCACAF Gold Cup with his country, and the Baggies could be giving him that chance.
